York Workshops
The original workshops for Dance the Past have been running since 2019 and year on year they get bigger and better than before!
Lottie has a full line up of Workshops and Classes planned for the year ranging from Medieval dance to the dances of the early 20th century. Each month we meet at The Mount School in York for a three hour workshop on a particular period of dance. We focus not only on the dances themselves but also look at the history that puts them in context!
All Workshops are suitable for beginners as well as those with more experience. No need to bring a partner just suitable comfy shoes for dancing. Tickets should be purchased in advance.

Malton Classes
Malton Classes
New for 2025! We’re starting regular regency dance classes in Malton in the lead up to the Malton Regency Charity Ball on Friday 17th October 2025.
We’ll be meeting at Malton Memorial Hall once a month to learn some classic Regency dance in preparation for the ball (and just to have fun)! Classes are £10pp and can be purchased over on Eventbrite.
Workshops are suitable for beginners as well as those with more experience. No need to bring a partner just suitable comfy shoes for dancing. Tickets should be purchased in advance. You do not have to be attending the ball to attend the classes!

Would you like to learn Georgian dance in an actual Georgian State Room? Join us at York Mansion House for a taste of Georgian splendour!
First and Third Sundays of the month, 4pm- 5pm, Tickets are £6.
Suitable for dancing abilities: beginners to intermediate (please wear comfortable shoes)
These sessions tend to be busy so book early to avoid disappointment!
